Tottenham Hotspur will look to sign 27-year-old Egyptian international Omar Marmoush from Manchester City next week.
According to an update from reputed Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Omar Marmoush is the subject of interest from Tottenham Hotspur. The Lilywhites are eager to bolster their offensive unit by signing a striker in the ongoing transfer window, and they have their sights set on the versatile 27-year-old Manchester City attacker.
Per Fabrizio Romano, talks between Manchester City and Tottenham have progressed well in the last few days, creating a sense of calm and confidence at the North London club.
How has Omar Marmoush fared at Manchester City?
Omar Marmoush has endured a topsy-turvy ride since joining Manchester City from Eintracht Frankfurt in a deal worth €70 million in January 2025. While the 27-year-old did not take long to settle down and was a rare bright spot for City in the second half of the 2024/25 season, he struggled for regular game time in the 2025/26 campaign.
Despite his ability to reprise any offensive role, Marmoush has dropped in the pecking order, and he did not even manage 1,500 minutes of game time in 36 appearances across all competitions, chipping in with eight goals and three assists. Nevertheless, the Egyptian attacker’s stock remains high, with Tottenham Hotspur among the prospective suitors vying for his signature.
Move across the Premier League on the cards?
Tottenham Hotspur wanted to sign Omar Marmoush in the winter transfer window, but a deal did not materialise. The continued interest is understandable, as they have yet to replace Randal Kolo Muani, who return to Paris Saint-Germain after the end of his loan spell before rejoining Juventus earlier this summer.
Additionally, Dominic Solanke has struggled with persistent fitness issues since arriving from Bournemouth. With Richarlison reportedly on the chopping block at the North London club, signing a striker is a priority. Marmoush has thus emerged as a viable target, and recent reports have claimed that Spurs have intensified their efforts to sign the Egyptian international.
Widespread reports have suggested that Marmoush is ready to join Tottenham. So, after being omitted from the starting lineup in the Premier League clash with Bournemouth, a move appears closer to completion.
