Dusan Vlahovic open to Arsenal move

Arsenal have been linked with a move for Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic, a target for Premier League rivals Chelsea.

Ben Jacobs has told Give Me Sport that 22-year-old Serbian international Dusan Vlahovic is now open to joining Arsenal during the January transfer window. The Juventus striker, valued at £80 million, is also a target for Premier League rivals Chelsea.

Vlahovic has not been able to live up to the expectations since his big-money move to Juventus, and he has been linked with a move away in recent months. And despite having a hefty price tag worth £80 million, he is a top target for Arsenal and Chelsea.

Arsenal could certainly use more quality and depth in the final third. And it will be interesting to see if they can convince the Italian giants to sell the 22-year-old in the upcoming window. Vlahovic has scored seven goals and picked up two assists in 15 appearances for Juventus this season, and he could prove to be a useful addition to Mikel Arteta’s attack.

Star striker Gabriel Jesus is currently injured, and Arsenal could definitely use an attacking reinforcement. The 22-year-old could lead the line in the absence of the Brazilian international. Arsenal are currently at the top of the league table and will hope to win the title.

Mikel Arteta must look to improve his squad in January to keep up the title push against teams like Manchester City. As per reports, Vlahovic is unhappy at Juventus and wants to leave the club in search of a new adventure. And Ben Jacobs has told Give Me Sport that he is open to joining Arsenal.

Ben Jacobs said to GMS: “We know that Vlahovic has been on Arsenal’s radar because they quite bullishly, in January, tried to sign him, and all it really did was catalyse Juventus’ push to sign Vlahovic earlier.”

“And now there’s a feeling from sources that because of Juventus’ uncertain situation, they’re under investigation for alleged financial malpractice, who knows, sporting sanctions are not out of the question, but more importantly because the Italian system allows for all kinds of different appeals.”

““So, more important than the actual sporting sanctions is actually just the fact that it’s not thought that Vlahovic is particularly happy under Max Allegri. And because of that, I think that he is open to a move and Juventus are, at the same time, quite prepared to entertain offers and see what happens.”

The opportunity to move to the Premier League will be an attractive proposition for the player. However, he has a long-term contract and Arsenal will have to pay a premium of £80 million for his services.

Meanwhile, the player has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea as well. The Blues have struggled in the final third this season, with summer signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang not being able to hit the ground running. Graham Potter needs a quality attacking option to lead the charge for a top-four finish, and Vlahovic could be an exciting addition.

Furthermore, Chelsea recently lost Armando Broja for the season due to an injury. And signing a quality attacker in January should be a top priority for them. It will be interesting to see who wins the £80 million race to sign the Serb.
