Thomas Tuchel has reportedly blocked any possible move for Trevoh Chalobah as there is still uncertainty over the signing of Wesley Fofana.

According to FC Inter News, Thomas Tuchel has blocked Trevoh Chalobah’s move out of the club. The central defender was expected to depart before the deadline, but now any potential transfer looks in jeopardy.

Chelsea are still in the process of finalising their squad for the current season as they continue to search for new players in the market. Thomas Tuchel needs a new striker, midfielder and central defender before the deadline.

The latter’s arrival could affect Trevoh Chalobah’s immediate future at the west London club, with the 23-year-old seeking regular game time. The young defender was a reasonably regular option for Tuchel last season; however, as the campaign progressed, he found himself more on the Chelsea bench.

Even in pre-season, Chalobah was not all that impressive, reportedly leading to Chelsea chasing Wesley Fofana. The deal for the Frenchman grows complicated with each passing day, although the Blues are hoping to find a solution.

Leicester City already have a few bids from the London side, with Chelsea preparing a new £75 million offer for the Frenchman. Tuchel, on the other hand, has put Chalobah’s potential move on hold as uncertainty grows with the Fofana transfer.

Many clubs have been keen on signing Chalobah, who wanted to join a team where he is guaranteed regular game time. Remaining in the Premier League was always an option, although there has been significant interest from clubs abroad.

Milan were considering making a move and reuniting Chalobah with former Chelsea teammate Fikayo Tomori. The Rossoneri were reportedly considering offering €3 million in loan fees and including a €30 million buy option in a loan deal for the defender.

Tuchel has seemingly blocked those efforts from Milan and Lazio, as he may keep the defender for the season. The stance could soften if Chelsea manage to sign Fofana in the coming days, as things are getting complicated for both players.

Chalobah will not get regular game time, with or without Fofana in this Chelsea side. He will be eager to move on temporarily and seek regular playing time elsewhere. Whether the Blues agree to the player’s demands remains to be seen.
