Juventus Director Admits They Cannot Offer Pogba “Crazy Wages” Amidst FC Barcelona, Manchester City Links

Juventus director Giuseppe Marotta has admitted that the club cannot offer Paul Pogba “crazy salary” with the player heavily linked with moves to FC Barcelona and Manchester City.

Catalan newspaper Sport had claimed earlier that Juventus had the following three offers on the table for Paul Pogba: a 80m + a 10m in add-ons from FC Barcelona to purchase in July 2016, a 50m + Brazilian midfielder Oscar from Chelsea FC to purchase this summer, and a cash-only a 100m offer from Manchester City to purchase the French international this summer. Following a meeting between Juventus and FC Barcelona officials, reports in Catalan media then stated that the clubs had reached a gentlemana s agreement regarding the transfer of the player in the summer of 2016. However, contrary to the reports, Juventus later confirmed that FC Barcelona did have a bid rejected for Paul Pogba in a meeting between the representatives of the two clubs.

‘Cannot offer crazy salaries’

Speaking to Quotidiano Sportivo, Marotta said that the club wants to keep Pogba, but, cannot offer crazy salaries to do so.

Pogba’s future? In modern football the decision of the player is paramount, like with [Carlos] Tevez,” Marotta told Quotidiano Sportivo. “It’s obvious that we would like to keep him until he stops playing, but we can’t afford to do anything crazy in terms of salaries and some clubs can guarantee twice what we can.”

Juventus to add to their midfield, not looking to sign Oscar

Juventus have sold Andrea Pirlo and Arturo Vidal following the Champions League final loss. The club were heavily linked with a move to secure Julian Draxler from Schalke . , Chelsea FC star Oscar, and Real Madrid playmaker Isco. However, Moratta has thrown cold water on the rumors linking the club to Oscar and Isco. “Isco and Oscar are both stellar players, but in the case of Juventus — unfortunately, for now — we will never be able to sign them,” Marotta added.
