Gabriel Martinelli’s career could take him to Serie A, with Inter Milan having the opportunity to sign the 25-year-old Brazilian international from Arsenal.
According to a report by Italian outlet Tuttosport, Roc Nation, the agency managing Luis Henrique, recently offered Gabriel Martinelli to Inter Milan during discussions about the Brazilian wide player’s future. The update suggests the 25-year-old Arsenal attacker “has the qualities Inter are looking for” due to his wide outlet and pace.
However, per Tuttosport, the Serie A champions are hesitant to launch a move due to Arsenal’s asking price of €40 million. So, two Premier League-based attackers are on Inter Milan’s wishlist, with the Nerazzurri considering a move for Joshua Zirkzee and Federico Chiesa.
Gabriel Martinelli and his Arsenal career so far
Gabriel Martinelli has experienced mixed fortunes since joining Arsenal from Ituano Futebol Clube in July 2019. While the 25-year-old was impressive in his early seasons and has been a regular for the North London club in the final third, he has struggled for consistency in recent campaigns, particularly in the final third.
Nevertheless, the Brazilian international produced a decent tally in the 2025/26 season, scoring 11 goals and providing seven assists in only 2,384 minutes of game time in 52 outings across all competitions. However, a closer inspection reveals the underlying issues, as he managed only one goal in the Premier League, although his stock remains high.
Serie A adventure beckoning?
Recent reports have linked Gabriel Martinelli with several Serie A clubs, with AS Roma and Juventus expressing their interest in him. However, the opportunity to join the most stable Italian club would be highly appealing, as he can continue to compete for top trophies if he moves to San Siro.
The Serie A champions have the need for a versatile attacker, as Luis Henrique faces an uncertain future at San Siro amid his links with AS Roma. Additionally, Martinelli’s ability to play central roles, as he demonstrated during the 2026 FIFA World Cup for Brazil, adds versatility as Inter undertake a midfield overhaul, with Curtis Jones arriving from Liverpool.
Yet the €40 million asking price remains a barrier; AS Roma have faced similar budgetary constraints, and Inter Milan appear unwilling to stretch their budget. With Joshua Zirkzee and Federico Chiesa also in the Serie A club’s sights, the €40 million ask may prove pivotal to the club’s summer strategy amid interest in the Liverpool and Manchester United attackers.
