As per Team Talk, former Blues midfielder and club legend Frank Lampard wants to take Derry on a season-long loan deal to Coventry City, with the Championship club on the verge of gaining promotion to the Premier League.
Chelsea have a big talent on their hands in young forward Jesse Derry, who was signed from Crystal Palace last summer. He has already made a big mark on proceedings in the background at Cobham, as the teenager was also handed his first-team debut, playing twice in this season’s FA Cup.
He could still end up making more appearances as the season reaches its conclusion, although Chelsea are keen to keep developing the highly-rated 18-year-old forward. Derry could be the subject of interest from a few clubs ahead of the summer, as Real Madrid have previously expressed their admiration for the forward, alongside other teenage prospects from the Premier League.
However, the most concrete interest might be coming from Coventry City, managed by former midfielder and Chelsea legend Frank Lampard. The Championship leaders are anticipating Premier League football next season, as Lampard wants to raid his former side for one of their prestigious talents.
