Paris Saint-Germain will reportedly look to sign 22-cap Brazilian international Gabriel Martinelli from Arsenal in the summer transfer window.
According to a report by French outlet Media Foot, Arsenal forward Gabriel Martinelli is the subject of interest of Paris Saint-Germain. The reigning Ligue 1 and UEFA Champions League holders are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit by signing a versatile attacker ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The Guarulhos native faces an uncertain future at the North London club after losing his spot as a first-choice starter. PSG will attempt to take advantage of the situation, and they have submitted an enquiry to discuss a summer move for Martinelli, even though he is a backup target for the French giants.
How has Gabriel Martinelli performed for Arsenal so far
Gabriel Martinelli has endured a topsy-turvy ride since joining Arsenal from Ituano Futebol Clube in July 2019. While the 24-year-old has blown hot and cold in recent seasons, he has made considerable progress in the last half a dozen years. However, the player’s inconsistency has cost him a spot as the first-choice left winger, with Leandro Trossard usurping him.
Nevertheless, the 22-cap Brazilian international has produced a solid tally thus far in the 2025/26 season, scoring 11 goals and providing five assists in only 1,862 minutes of game time in 42 appearances across all competitions. Meanwhile, even though Martinelli is not a regular starter for Arsenal, his stock is high, with Paris Saint-Germain among the prospective suitors vying for his signature.
Ligue 1 move on the horizon?
Gabriel Martinelli has been on PSG’s radar for a long time. The continued interest is surprising, as the French giants have several wide attackers in their offensive unit. Bradley Barcola, Desire Doue, and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia have been excellent during their spells with PSG, and Ousmane Dembele can also play on both flanks.
Additionally, Ibrahim Mbaye and Quentin Ndjantou are being groomed for a bright long-term future at PSG. So, unless Les Parisiens cash in on a few players, it will not make sense to pursue Martinelli, who has primarily played as a left winger. While several players have attracted interest from high-profile clubs, recent reports have claimed that they are unwilling to sell Kvaratskhelia, Barcola, and Doue.
Meanwhile, the report has revealed that Julian Alvarez is PSG’s top target as they look to sign a striker in the upcoming transfer window. Pursuing the Atletico Madrid attacker would be sensible, as Les Parisiens can do with a new striker. As for Martinelli, recent reports have suggested that Arsenal may be open to cashing in on the 25-year-old Brazilian international this summer.
