Liverpool have appointed Andoni Iraola as the new manager of the club, and they could look to raid Bournemouth in the summer.
Iraola built an impressive team at Bournemouth, and Liverpool have been backed to make a move for the reportedly in-demand Alex Scott and Eli Junior Kroupi. It will be interesting to see if they can get the two deals done in the coming weeks. The two players could cost around £180 million, but Alan Shearer expects the Reds to launch a move for them this summer.
“I can see Bournemouth players following Andoni Iraola to Liverpool,” Alan Shearer said via TEAMtalk, before adding “I totally understand why bigger clubs will be looking at their players because of their outstanding performances, particularly last season, though I guess Bournemouth fans will hate to hear this.
“We’ve said it many times and we’ll say it again: their recruitment at Bournemouth has been off the charts, so it is no surprise some of their players are being linked with big football clubs. That’s a great credit to them for the job they’ve done in getting those players there.
“I said months ago that the two players I would pick out of that team would be Kroupi Junior and Alex Scott. I think they’ve been absolutely outstanding this season for Bournemouth, so it wouldn’t be a surprise to me at all if they were to go this summer.”
Liverpool could use Scott and Kroupi
It is no secret that Liverpool needs more quality in the middle of the park, and Alex Scott would be an excellent acquisition. The Englishman was a key player for Iraola, and he could help Liverpool control the game better in the middle of the park. The 22-year-old midfielder is a hard-working player who will help out defensively as well. There is no doubt that he has the quality to play for bigger clubs, and the move to Liverpool will be exciting for him.
On the other hand, Kroupi has established himself as one of the finest young attacking players in the Premier League. The French attacker registered 13 goals in the league last season, and he will only improve with coaching and experience. The 19-year-old is quite young, and he has tremendous potential. If Liverpool can secure his signature, he could prove to be a solid long-term investment. Kroupi has also been linked with Arsenal and Chelsea.

Signing the two players for £180 million will not be easy. Liverpool need to improve other areas of the squad as well. In addition, the Cherries will not want to sell key players like Scott and Kroupi this summer. It remains to be seen whether Liverpool decide to follow up on their interest with an official offer for the two players.
