Danny Drinkwater sealed his transfer from Leicester City to Chelsea in a £35 million move on deadline day.

As every top club was scurrying to make deals happen on deadline day, Chelsea managed to secure two valuable additions to their squad to boost the depth in options. While Davide Zappacosta was a surprise signing, Drinkwater, who was linked to Chelsea throughout the summer, also arrived at Stamford Bridge.

The player sealed a £35 million move to Chelsea and was handed the number 6 shirt at his new club. Fans, as usual, were quick to show their emotions as to the transfer on social media platforms.

Some fans though, were quick to point out that having made Manchester United out to be a club signing Chelsea rejects, the tables had finally turned. Some on the other hand, pointed at the excellence of the United academy.

But, the trolls were out in full force, castrating the Chelsea board for letting promising Chelsea graduates like Chalobah and Loftus-Cheek leave and then spending big to sign Drinkwater.
