Eden Hazard and Gonzalo Higuain both grabbed a brace as Chelsea bounced back strongly from their midweek defeat, beating Huddersfield Town 5-0.
Having been thrashed 4-0 by Bournemouth in their previous Premier League encounter earlier this week, Chelsea came into Saturday’s game against the Terriers under intense pressure. And they were off to the best possible start as January signing Gonzalo Higuain opened the scoring in 16th minute, on his league home debut.
Eden Hazard then made it 2-0 for Sarri’s side, slotting home a cool penalty on the verge of half-time, before the Belgian added his second of the day twenty minutes into the second period. Higuain then went on to make it 4-0 three minutes later with a sensational finish and David Luiz made it 5-0 in the dying minutes to add the icing on the cake.
It was a highly impressive performance from the Blues, particularly from Higuain, who had struggled to make any sort of impact on his Premier League debut against the Cherries. The Argentine forward took his goals brilliantly, showcasing his class and finishing ability and Chelsea supporters took to social media to sing their new No.9’s praises;

While Higuain impressed heavily on his first league game at Stamford Bridge, it was Eden Hazard who ran the show for Chelsea, driving at the Huddersfield defence with intent at every opportunity and capped the display with two very well-deserved goals.
Eden Hazard completed 12 take-ons vs. Huddersfield; the most by a player in a single Premier League game this season.
