There were echoes of Chelsea’s disastrous defence of their 2014-15 title as the Blues were shocked by Burnley at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea had it all to do, with several players out with injury. And Burnley took full advantage of it, upsetting the defending Champions in their own backyard. A brace from Sam Vokes saw the Clarets run away to a 3-0 lead before Chelsea pulled back two goals, despite going down to 8 outfield players only.

Chelsea fans were in shambles with the erratic defending on display by their side, with Gary Cahill and Thibaut Courtois blamed for two of three goals.

Fingers were also pointed towards the refereeing on display at Stamford Bridge, with Chelsea seeing two of their players sent off.
