The 2023/24 Premier League season heads into Gameweek 7, and we look at the potential betting options for the upcoming matches over the weekend.

The 2023/24 Premier League season resumes this weekend with Gameweek 7, and we are starting to see the table take some shape. The contenders are starting to get separated from the pretenders, while the relegation battlers are becoming clear.

While teams like Manchester City and Liverpool will continue their title charge after an impressive start to the season, newly-promoted clubs like Luton Town and Burnley will look to end their disastrous run of form and get back to winning ways.

Aston Villa vs Brighton

Brighton are currently third in the Premier League table, having picked up 15 points from six league games. They have won five matches so far this season and Roberto De Zerbi’s men will look to continue their fine run of form.

Aston Villa have picked up four wins from their last five league matches as well, and this promises to be an enthralling affair. The last three meetings between these two sides have seen a total of 10 goals scored, and both teams have managed to get on the scoresheet in those matches.

Brighton have scored at least three goals in five of their last six Premier League matches, whereas Aston Villa have scored at least twice in their last five matches against Brighton. A high-scoring contest is on the cards here. Over 2.5 goals seem likely.

Everton vs Luton Town

Neither side are in particularly good form right now, and they will be desperate for all three points. Everton have lost four of their first six league matches, while Luton Town are yet to pick up a single victory in the league.

Everton have won their last two meetings against Luton Town, with the last one coming in 2007. The Toffees are coming into this game on the back of wins over Brentford and Aston Villa, and they will be reasonably confident of grinding out all three points at home.

Luton have failed to win their last five league matches and their disastrous start to the season is likely to continue. Bet on Everton to win here.

Manchester United vs Crystal Palace

The Red Devils are coming into this game on the back of a comprehensive victory against Crystal Palace in the EFL Cup. After losing three games on the bounce, Erik ten Hag’s men have bounced back with two back-to-back wins and clean sheets. They will be the favourites heading into this contest.

Meanwhile, Crystal Palace are winless in their last three matches across all competitions. They have lost four of their last six matches against Manchester United, and their record at Old Trafford is quite poor. The South Londoners have lost their last four away matches at Old Trafford and the Red Devils should be able to pick up all three points here.

Bet on Manchester United to win here.

Newcastle United vs Burnley

Newcastle United are coming into this game on the back of a narrow win over Manchester City in the League Cup, and they will be full of confidence.

The Magpies produced a hammering against Sheffield United in their last Premier League match, winning the game 8-0. They are currently eighth in the Premier League table and they will hope to close in on the top four with a victory here. Meanwhile, Burnley are without a single victory in the league so far and they are 19th in the standings.

Newcastle are unbeaten in five of their last six meetings against Burnley, and they should be able to grind out all three points here. A Newcastle win seems likely.

Bournemouth vs Arsenal

The Cherries have failed to win a single league game so far, and they are 17th in the Premier League table. However, they picked up a 2-0 win over Stoke City in the League Cup during the midweek, and it remains to be seen whether they can build on that performance.

Arsenal, on the other hand, have picked up 14 points from six matches, and they are fifth in the league table. They are unbeaten in their last six across all competitions, and they have an impressive record against Bournemouth as well. The Gunners have won six of the last seven matches against the Cherries and they will be firm favourites to win here.

The last six meetings between these two sides have produced a total of 20 goals, and a high-scoring game is on the cards as well. Bournemouth have failed to win their last 10 league matches, and their poor run of form in the league is set to continue.

Bet on Arsenal to win and over 2.5 goals.

West Ham vs Sheffield United

The Hammers have lost their last two league matches, and they will be desperate to bounce back at home. Sheffield United have picked up five defeats from six league matches so far and they are probably the worst team in the Premier League so far.

The Blades will be massive underdogs heading into this game, and West Ham should be able to end their losing streak in the league with a win here. The visitors have conceded at least twice in their last five league matches and the likes of Mohammed Kudus and Jarrod Bowen should cause all sorts of problems for the visitors.

Bet on West Ham to win.

Wolves vs Manchester City

The defending champions have won all six of their league matches so far, and they will be overwhelming favourites heading into this game. The midweek defeat against Newcastle United in the League Cup will give them ample motivation to step up and get the job done here.

Wolves have failed to win five of their last six league matches, and they will have to play out of their skin in order to get something out of this contest. Manchester City have won the last six matches against Wolves, and they have scored at least three goals in five of those outings.

Bet on Manchester City to win.

Tottenham vs Liverpool

Arguably the most exciting clash of the weekend, both teams are in fine form right now, and this should be a cracking contest. Liverpool have picked up 16 points from six matches, and Spurs have raked in 14 points in that time.

Both teams are unbeaten in the league, and they have scored 15 goals so far. The last six meetings between these two sides have produced a total of 23 goals and this one is likely to be packed with action as well.

Although the Reds have won nine of their last 11 matches against Tottenham, this is likely to be an evenly-matched contest and the two teams are likely to share the spoils. A high-scoring game is definitely on the cards. Bet on both teams to score and over 2.5 goals.

Nottingham Forest vs Brentford

Both teams are in poor form right now, and they are separated by just one point in the table. Nottingham Forest are coming into this game on the back of a defeat against Manchester City, whereas Brentford have lost the last two league matches against Newcastle and Everton.

Both teams will be desperate to bounce back strongly and it remains to be seen who comes out on top. The last four meetings between these two sides have seen both teams get on the scoresheet and a total of 13 goals have been scored in that time.

Another high-scoring affair is on the cards here and both teams will look to outscore each other. Over 2.5 goals seem likely.

Fulham vs Chelsea

Chelsea picked up just one win in the Premier League so far. And for a club of their stature, it is a disastrous start. Mauricio Pochettino will be desperate to pick up all three points against their London rivals and it remains to be seen whether they can step up and deliver.

The Blues have failed to win 9 of their last 10 matches in the league and they have failed to score in their last three. That said, they have an impressive record against Fulham and they are unbeaten in five of their last six meetings against their London rivals.

Fulham are unbeaten in four of their last six league matches, and it remains to be seen whether they can grind out a positive result at home. This is likely to be a close contest but Chelsea have enough quality to grind out a positive result.

The Blues picked up a narrow win over Brighton in the midweek and that will have given them some much-needed confidence boost. A narrow win for Chelsea seems likely.
