“Of Course, I Am Thinking About It”- Kevin De Bruyne On Interest From Manchester City And PSG

Manchester City target Kevin De Bruyne has suggested that he would be willing to move in the summer, and is unsure over his future, while his club, Wolfsburg are keen to keep hold of him.

The Belgian midfielder was voted the Bundesliga Player of the Season last season, after scoring 16 goals and assisting another 27, as his club won the German Cup while finishing runners-up in the Bundesliga. The former Chelsea FC midfielder has attracted interest from big spending clubs like Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain.

I don’t know where I will play next season – Kevin De Bruyne .

The Citizens are believed to be willing to pay up to a 72 million for the 24-year-old, with French champions Paris Saint-Germain are also reportedly keen on his services. The Belgian only made 3 appearances for Premier League champions Chelsea FC in his two years spell for them between 2012-14, as he failed to break into the first team, and spent most of his time at loan to Genk and Werder Bremen, before being eventually sold to Wolfsburg for A?18 million. Speaking to Kicker, the 24-year-old said:

“I don’t know where I will play next season.

“I just have to train well and make sure that I am fully fit. We will then see what happens.

“But it is always something special when big clubs show an interest in you. Of course, I am thinking about it.”

Wolfsburg however, have maintained that they have no intention of selling their prized asset, but have hinted that if a huge offer comes in, they might consider it.

“Kevin has a contract with us until 2019 and he knows we do not want to sell him.

“But we will take serious offers into consideration. Only an extraordinary offer could change our stance.”

What next for Kevin De Bruyne?

While, Manchester City have been constantly linked with a move for the attacking-midfielder, the Citizens capture of Raheem Sterling from Liverpool FC for a record fee of A?49 million, cast some doubts that they would be spending exorbitant money for a position considered their strongest. The Etihad outfit have in their ranks, David Silva, Samir Nasri, Jesus Navas, Raheem Sterling for the attacking mid-fielder and winger slots, however, with a wealth of money at their disposal, a bid for Kevin de Bruyne could not be ruled out and with the potential departure of Edin Dzeko along with already loaned-out Stevan Jovetic, a place in the squad might just be available for the Belgian to fit in.

Paris Saint-Germain are also reportedly close to announcing the arrival of World Class winger, Angel Di Maria, which further casts doubt over their interests in the talented German. Kevin de Bruyne had a forgettable first spell on English shores, as he failed to break into the Chelsea FC first-team, but with relatively more top-flight experience and a sensational season last term, the 24-year-old might be tempted to test himself again in the English Premier League. Without a doubt, Kevin De Bruyne would be a welcome addition to any team, and would defiinitely help take them to the next level.
