Liverpool are reportedly looking to sign 24-year-old Moroccan international Abde Ezzalzouli in the summer transfer window.
Ez Abde has been in fine form this season, and he has recorded 24 goal contributions (12 goals, 12 assists) across all competitions thus far. He is at the peak of his career, and this is the right time for him to join a bigger club as well.
Liverpool need more quality on the flanks, especially with Mohamed Salah leaving the club. They will need to replace the product of the Egyptian international in the coming weeks. The veteran attacker has been one of the best players in Premier League history, and replacing him directly will be difficult. Liverpool will need multiple players to fill the void he leaves.
They need someone who can create opportunities consistently and find the back of the net as well. Even though Salah has not been at his best this season, he has amassed 12 goals and nine assists thus far. That exemplifies the void his departure will create. Abde could prove to be the ideal acquisition. He has the technical attributes to perform in the Premier League, and he could be a useful long-term acquisition.
According to a report from Fichajes, Liverpool would be prepared to pay €60 million, the value of his release clause, to get the deal done. It remains to be seen whether they follow up on their interest with an official offer in the coming months.
Ez Abde will fancy a big move
The Moroccan international is likely to be tempted to join a big club like Liverpool. It remains to be seen whether the two clubs can finalise an agreement. The former Barcelona attacker will look to test himself at the highest level.
The opportunity move to the Premier League could be ideal for him at this stage of his career. Regular football in England will help him improve further and fulfil his potential. However, Liverpool have been linked with multiple wingers in recent months. They are keeping tabs on Bradley Barcola and Yan Diomande as well.
The Reds need to improve in that area of the pitch if they want to do well next season. Apart from covering Salah’s departure, they need to worry about the form of other players. Cody Gakpo has been hugely underwhelming this season, while Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak have been slow off the blocks. They invariably need an update on Gakpo, and signing Abde would be a step in the right direction.
