Newcastle United keen on Joshua Kimmich

Newcastle United could part ways with Eddie Howe following what has been a poor start to the season for the club. .

Newcastle United have made an enquiry for the services of the 28-year-old Bayern Munich mainstay Joshua Kimmich.

According to a report by BILD, Newcastle United are keen on having Joshua Kimmich in their ranks. The 28-year-old German international’s future at Bayern Munich looks uncertain and the Magpies have started making moves as they plan to land him at the club.

After coming through the ranks at VfB Stuttgart and making a name for himself, Kimmich joined Bayern Munich in the summer of 2015. He has since gone from strength to strength and hasn’t looked back.

The 28-year-old has won numerous titles at the German club and he has established himself as one of the mainstays of the team. But, of late things haven’t gone according to plan. He hasn’t been at his best in the recent past and his contract is running out.

Kimmich’s contract runs out in the summer of 2025 and there is uncertainty over his future. There have been no discussions with Bayern over a new deal. With the German club not making moves, interested clubs will look to make a move for him after the end of the season.

Newcastle United are keen on having the 28-year-old in their ranks. He could be a huge signing for them. While they are currently 10th in the Premier League and are unlikely to have Champions League football next season, the Magpies are willing to try and bring the €20 million-a-year star to the Premier League.

The Tyneside club have already made an enquiry about the availability of the player. While there is no clarity regarding who they have approached, whether it was the club, the player’s representatives or both, they have surely started making moves.

Thomas Tuchel’s team will look to ensure they have a decision regarding the 28-year-old’s future before the end of the season because they wouldn’t want to risk losing out on him for free in the summer of 2025. Meanwhile, the player is not rushing to any decisions and even Bayern has an important decision on their hands. They need to decide whether Kimmich deserves a new deal given his recent performances.
