Liverpool have agreed on a deal to sign Dominik Szoboszlai from the German club RB Leipzig.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Premier League giants have agreed to trigger his €70 million release clause and the Bundesliga club have been informed of their desire.

The player has already agreed personal terms with Liverpool and he is set to undergo a medical with the Premier League club soon.

The 22-year-old has been one of the best midfielders in the Bundesliga this past season, and he should prove to be a superb, long-term acquisition for the Reds.

Liverpool were in desperate need of midfield reinforcements and Szoboszlai should prove to be a quality acquisition alongside Alexis Mac Allister, who joined the club from Brighton and Hove Albion earlier this summer.

The 22-year-old midfielder will look to continue his development with regular football at a high level and a move to the Premier League could accelerate his development. He will get to compete against world-class players in the Premier League on a weekly basis and working under a top-class coach like Jurgen Klopp will only help him improve as a footballer.

The German manager has done well to nurture talented young players at Liverpool and he could help the 22-year-old fulfil his world-class potential.

Szoboszlai is capable of operating as a central attacking midfielder, a central midfielder, as well as a winger. His versatility will be an added bonus for Liverpool and Klopp.

The midfielder will add goals to the Liverpool midfield, and he will help create opportunities for his teammates as well. Szoboszlai chipped in with 10 goals last season, and he picked up 13 assists across all competitions as well.

Apart from his creativity and goalscoring ability, he is lethal from set pieces as well. The midfielder is an exceptional crosser and he can be quite effective from direct free kicks as well.

The 22-year-old has all the attributes to develop into a complete midfielder and a move to the Premier League would be the ideal next step in his career.

Although Liverpool have missed out on Champions League qualification, they will be able to provide him with Europa League football next season and they certainly have a squad capable of challenging for trophies next year.
