Paris Saint-Germain winger Angel Di Maria is attracting interest from multiple European giants including Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.

According to Tutto Mercato Web, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid have now entered the race to sign Paris Saint-Germain winger Angel Di Maria. The likes of Juventus and Benfica are also showing interest in the Argentine, whose time at Parc des Princes is set to come to an end after the ongoing season.

The 34-year-old former Real Madrid and Manchester United star’s contract runs down this summer and he will be free to join any club on a Bosman move. With a wealth of experience under his belt, Di Maria could be a much-wanted entity in the summer window.

The Argentine star joined PSG following a disappointing stint with Manchester United in the Premier League. He grew into one of the most important players at the French club and has since gone on to make 291 appearances for them across competitions. He helped the club win four Ligue 1 titles along with other cup competitions but couldn’t lead them to the elusive Champions League title.

Di Maria, though, has a Champions League medal to his name, which he won with Real Madrid in the 2013/14 season. Manchester United immediately came calling but the Argentine struggled to settle down in England and scored just four goals in 32 appearances for them before making the move to Paris in 2015.

His association with PSG is finally coming to an end but Di Maria’s consistency has ensured that there are clubs lining up to secure his services even at 34 years of age. While his former club Benfica have registered interest, Juventus have reportedly made contact with his entourage to discuss details of a possible move.

But it isn’t going to be straightforward for interested parties with Barcelona and Atletico Madrid entering the fray. Both the Spanish sides are eager to get back to challenging for the La Liga title after a sub-par season and have identified Di Maria as a player who can help accelerate their return to the upper echelons of Spanish football.

Barcelona are yet to extend Ousmane Dembele’s contract and would need a right-winger if they fail to convince the Frenchman to sign a new deal. As for Atletico Madrid, the Rojiblancos are on the prowl to add more experience and quality to their attack as they prepare for the departure of Luis Suarez. Di Maria, to that end, has emerged as a target for both clubs as per the report.

The Argentine has previous experience playing in La Liga, having spent four seasons with Real Madrid between 2010 and 2014. And his free agency status also makes him an appealing prospect. However, it remains to be seen if Barcelona or Atletico make an approach for Di Maria.
