Arsene Wenger led his side to their record breaking thirteenth FA Cup title with a dominating performance over Premier League champions Chelsea.

The scoreline doesn’t quite do justice to Arsenal’s performance in the game. Barring a few close calls in the second half, Chelsea never looked like they would be able to mount a serious comeback, even after Diego Costa’s equalizer.

Goals from Alexis Sanchez and Aaron Ramsey were enough to brighten the mood for the fans after what has been a difficult season for the club. Only time will tell whether this will be enough for Arsene Wenger to hold on to his job for another season.

It is Wenger’s 7th FA Cup title – no manager has won more during their time in England. This was Arsenal’s 13th FA Cup title – no other team in England has as many.

While the Gunner’s dressing room will be busy celebrating, few would want to trade places with the Chelsea players in the dressing alongside Antonio Conte, who must be furious at his side’s performance.

Expectations were high from a one Cesc Fabregas, who will hope to lead the Blues to victory against the side he once led.

Sanchez opened the scoring in the 4th minute with a controversial goal. Chelsea appealed for both hand-ball and offside, but after a discussion with the linesman, referee Anthony Taylor pointed to the spot, sending the red half of Wembley into raptures.

That goal, legal or not was exactly what Arsenal needed and the Gunners never took their foot of the gas. Wave after wave or Red and White came at Courtois’ goal with no reply from the Premier League Champions.

Thing didn;t get any better for Chelsea in the second half. It got even worse in the 68th minute, after Victor Moses got his second yellow card for a clear dive in the Arsenal box.

And minutes after this came on,

Diego Costa puts it past Ospina with the help of a deflection to bring his side level.

But before Chelsea and their fans had time to take it in, Aaron Ramsay sends them up 2-1.
