Real Madrid left it late to secure all three points in their final Group H game as they beat Borussia Dortmund 3-2 at Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday.

Borja Mayoral and Cristiano Ronaldo scored within the first quarter of an hour to give the hosts an early two-goal lead, before Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang pulled things level in a five-minute spell that gave the visitors some hope for ending their Group Stage campaign on a high.

But, the miserable campaign ended in more disappointment as with nine minutes to go – Lucas Vazquez volleyed in the winner to clinch all three points. Fans hailed Borja Mayoral’s performance, in particular, after the youngster scored in his maiden Champions League start, with some calling for his inclusion ahead of Karim Benzema.

But, the hero on the night was Cristiano Ronaldo, who created history by becoming the first player to score in all six Group Stage games.
