Jordan Henderson and Mohamed Salah were the heroes in the second half as Liverpool came from behind to beat Tottenham 2-1 at Anfield on Sunday.

Tottenham took a shock lead in the first minute when Son Heung-min’s long-range shot was deflected onto the crossbar, with Harry Kane scoring from the rebound. Liverpool were then unable to find a way past a gritty Spurs defence and a solid Paulo Gazzaniga until the 52nd minute, when captain Jordan Henderson levelled things up with a fine finish.

The Reds were subsequently in the ascendancy before getting the chance to take the lead when Sadio Mane was felled in the Tottenham box by Serge Aurier. Mohamed Salah took the resulting penalty and made no mistake in converting from the spot. Liverpool would manage to hold on to their slender advantage thereafter, and Salah was unsurprisingly lauded by fans.

Jordan Henderson went from zero to hero, scoring the equaliser after being one of the culprits for Tottenham’s goal when he lost the ball ahead of Spurs’ move. And Liverpool fans hailed the captain for the turnaround.

Fabinho, though, was the man who bossed the game for Liverpool and was praised from all quarters by fans.
