Santiago Solari’s reign as the permanent Real Madrid manager started in embarrassing fashion as Eibar cruised to a 3-0 win at the Ipurua Municipal Stadium on Saturday

Eibar took the game to their illustrious opponents from the get-go, and in what was a high intensity start to the game as both sides traded blows in the early exchanges. But, the hosts would go on to take a shock lead in the 16th minute, albeit in scrappy fashion as Dani Ceballos’ attempted clearance ricocheted off Gonzalo Escalante after Thibaut Courtois had saved the initial save.

But, there was nothing lucky about Eibar’s second as Barcelona loanee Marc Cucurella, who was also involved in the first goal, teed up Sergi Enrich with a low cross in the 52nd minute. Five minutes later, the win was all wrapped up, with Cucurella involved against as Kike scored a close range goal to grab all three points for Eibar.

As Eibar notched up their first ever league win over Real Madrid, the trolls were out in full force, with Barcelona fans pointing towards Cucurella’s contribution. Solari was also the butt of the jokes after overseeing his first loss in-charge of Real Madrid.
