Real Madrid sealed their place in the Round of 16 on Tuesday as they ran out emphatic 6-0 winners over APOEL Nicosia at the GSP Stadium.

Upon finally grabbing the lead midway through the first half through a long-range screamer by Luka Modric, the visitors turned on the style, grabbing three quickfire goals. Nacho scored on either side of Karim Benzema’s brace, with the Frenchman doubling his tally for the season.

Finally, Cristiano Ronaldo got in on the act as well, scoring two quick goals at the start of the second half to to become the third player in the Champions League era to score in each of the first five games of a season.

The Portuguese superstar has now scored 18 Champions League goals in 2017 – the most in a calendar year. And, Twitter was abuzz following his return to goalscoring ways on Tuesday in record fashion.

Karim Benzema and Luka Modric ended their respective goalscoring droughts on Tuesday, and the duo were hailed for their impeccable performances.
