Aurelien Tchouameni and Alvaro Carreras will return to the Real Madrid starting lineup when they host Deportivo Alaves at the Santiago Bernabeu on Tuesday.
Real Madrid will be eager to return to winning ways and set about ending a frustrating 2025/26 campaign on a high when they welcome Deportivo Alaves to the Santiago Bernabeu on Tuesday night. Alvaro Arbeloa has received a positive update on the team news front ahead of his side’s latest fixture.
Aurelien Tchouameni is available to take on Deportivo Alaves after missing the UEFA Champions League quarter-final second leg against Bayern Munich due to a suspension. Arda Guler is also available, as his red card will be valid for Los Blancos’ next Champions League outing.
However, Raul Asencio (gastroenteritis), Thibaut Courtois (thigh) and Rodrygo (knee) remain in the treatment room. Meanwhile, Eduardo Camavinga was also sent off in the clash with Bayern Munich, and during his pre-match press conference, Arbeloa discussed that decision and lent his support to the French midfielder.
The Real Madrid head coach said, “He’s gutted, as we all are. It was a decision that was clearly a serious mistake by the referee, because it’s obvious he didn’t know the player had a booking, and not knowing that strikes me as a very serious error. Without a booking, I think it’s a decision that, in a match like this, is going to affect a player.”
“If you give a yellow card to a midfielder, it’s going to have a huge impact. These are mistakes that shouldn’t happen in a Champions League match. He’s hurt because he knows what Real Madrid is all about and how important he is to the club and the dressing room.”
Andriy Lunin will continue to deputise for Thibaut Courtois between the sticks, with Real Madrid lining up in a 4-4-2 formation in front of him against Deportivo Alaves on Tuesday. The backline will feature Trent Alexander-Arnold, Eder Militao, Antonio Rudiger, and Alvaro Carreras.
As for the midfield unit, Aurelien Tchouameni will join Federico Valverde, Arda Guler, and Jude Bellingham in the middle of the park. Finally, Vinicius Junior and Kylian Mbappe will be the offensive duo for the home side. So, Brahim Diaz and Eduardo Camavinga will be among the backup options on the bench.
Predicted Real Madrid XI: Lunin; Alexander-Arnold, Militao, Rudiger, Carreras; Guler, Valverde, Tchouameni, Bellingham; Mbappe, Vinicius Junior
