Everton, Leeds United and Newcastle United are reportedly keen on signing 30-year-old Juventus ace in the January transfer window.

According to a report by Italian outlet Calciomercato.it, Everton, Leeds United and Newcastle United are exploring the possibility of securing the services of Aaron Ramsey in the January transfer window. However, while the Whites are only considering a loan swoop, the Toffees and the Magpies are ready to sign the 30-year-old permanently.

Aaron Ramsey joined Juventus as a free agent in July 2019 after his contract with Arsenal ran out. Expectations were naturally high from the Welshman, considering he had arrived at the Allianz Stadium on a big-money contract. However, he has failed to deliver the goods for the Serie A giants.

Things have gone from bad to worse for the 30-year-old this season, with Massimiliano Allegri not taking a liking to him. As a result, Ramsey has managed only 112 minutes of action thus far, sitting at the very bottom of the pecking order for midfielders. However, the drop in his stature has not affected prospective suitors, with Everton, Leeds United and Newcastle United interested in him.

The interest from Everton is understandable, considering Rafael Benitez is dealing with a horrible injury crisis at the moment, one that has crippled his squad considerably. So, the Toffees are in the market for several reinforcements heading into the January transfer window, with Ramsey a viable target to bolster their midfield.

As for Leeds, the slow start to their campaign has forced the Whites to eye prospective midfield additions. That is because Mateusz Klich is on the wrong side of 30 and has been inconsistent this season, while Stuart Dallas has had to reprise several roles due to Leeds’ injury woes and form issues. As a result, the Whites have been linked with several midfielders, including Ross Barkley, with Ramsey also a viable target.

Finally, Newcastle United’s much-anticipated squad overhaul could kick in with the signing of Ramsey, who has been identified as a possible January target. The Magpies need a serious injection of creativity and goals from midfield, and Ramsey could be a one-stop solution to that end.

However, Newcastle and Everton are likely to have an advantage in the race to sign Ramsey, as they are prepared to sign him permanently, which aligns ideally with what Juventus want to do with the 30-year-old. On the other hand, Leeds will only want to sign him on an initial before discussing a possible full transfer in the summer.

Juventus would prefer cashing in on Ramsey as soon as possible, although it will be interesting to see if either Newcastle or Everton are prepared to meet their price tag. If not, Leeds could come into contention to sign the Welsh midfield ace. Nonetheless, a return to the Premier League could be on the cards for Ramsey, albeit with a club with a lesser stature than Arsenal and Juventus.
