Liverpool have reportedly told to fork out €40 million to secure the services of Dusan Vlahovic from Fiorentina this coming summer.

According to a report by Italian outlet Milan Live, Liverpool now know how much they will have to shell out in order to land Dusan Vlahovic in the summer transfer window. Fiorentina have slapped a €40 million price tag on the 21-year-old Serbian striker, who is also courted by the likes of AC Milan, AS Roma and Juventus.

Vlahovic has been a part of Fiorentina since the summer of 2018 and after slowly growing within the Serie A club’s first-team setup, the Serb is finally enjoying a breakthrough campaign at Stadio Artemio Franchi in 2020/21, with a tally of 15 goals and 2 assists in 29 Serie A appearances this term.

His ascent has particularly come into effect since the turn of the year, with Vlahovic scoring 11 of his league goals in 2021. The stunning upturn in form seems to be capturing the attention of some of the biggest clubs in Europe, one of which are Liverpool, who have recently joined the race to sign the 21-year-old.

The interest from Liverpool is not one bit surprising, considering Jurgen Klopp is eager to freshen up his squad after what has been a dreadful 2020/21 campaign for his troops. While a glimmer of hope of a strong finish in the Premier League has been created in recent weeks, it still goes without saying that some parts need to be moved around.

In addition, it looks like at least one of the fabled attacking trio of Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino could be on his way out of Anfield this coming summer. Firmino, in particular, has been linked with a possible switch to Atletico Madrid, an eventuality that would force Liverpool into the market for a replacement anyway.

Even so, with Divock Origi also being tipped to depart the Merseyside club in the summer, the Reds will need to sign a striker, which makes Vlahovic a viable target. Liverpool, though, will need to loosen their purse strings a little to secure the services of the 21-year-old Serb, who is valued at €40 million by Fiorentina.

Meanwhile, apart from Liverpool, Serie A trio AC Milan, AS Roma and Juventus are also vying for the Fiorentina striker’s signature, while La Viola are scrambling to keep hold of their prized asset. For now, though, it looks like Vlahovic is becoming a hot property in the transfer market and it will be interesting to see if the Reds are ready to pay €40 million to swoop him away to Anfield.
