Manchester City wonderkid Jadon Sancho is being tailed by Arsenal and Tottenham as the Citizens fear the youngster could exit the Etihad.

According to Daily Mail, Manchester City are fearing that widespread interest in wonderkid Jadon Sancho may cause the youngster to exit the club. The player is being tailed by the likes of Arsenal and Tottenham, which has put fears in the Citizens that Sancho could depart from the Etihad.

Jadon Sancho is one of the most exciting youngsters to emanate from the Manchester City youth setup. The player is being touted as one of the future superstars of his generation for England and is very highly-rated by the coaches at the Etihad.

The player joined the ranks at City from Watford in 2015 and has already become a part of the Under-23 squad for the Citizens. Sancho has been impressive at the youth levels for City and last season, the player racked up a tally of 20 goals and 8 assists in just 35 appearances at different levels combined.

The player was linked heavily with a move away from the club earlier as well, with the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham all linked to him. However, City extended the player’s contract till 2020 along with promotion to training with the first team under Pep Guardiola.

Sancho, though, is doubtful of his hopes of breaking into the first-team at the Etihad. Guardiola already hinted at not being able to give more chances to the youth earlier in the summer, which has further put doubts in Sancho’s mind as to his future at City.

There were reports that City will provide a new three-year deal with a handsome pay rise to tie the player down to a contract, fending off interest from the aforementioned clubs. But, as it stands, Arsenal and Tottenham have renewed their interest in the player, who could now be on his way out of Etihad.

Arsenal have always been on the lookout for exciting youngsters. But, in Sancho’s case, Arsene Wenger could promise the player a role in the first-team straight away as a backup to Alexis Sanchez or some other player in the same position, in case the Chilean ends up leaving.

Tottenham, on the other hand, have an excellent track record of providing first-team opportunities to youngsters and with Moussa Sissoko on his way out, Sancho could be the next English sensation to be given a break by Tottenham.

Manchester City are unlikely to let the player go without a fight. But, they seem to be fighting a losing battle at the present moment and Sancho’s departure looks to be just a question of time, especially if the Citizens fail to provide some assurance over the first-team pathway for the English Under-17 international.
