Arsenal are facing a potential exodus of three English players this summer according to reports

According to the Evening Standard, Jack Wilshere, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Kieran Gibbs could all leave the Emirates this summer as the Gunners are yet to open contract talks with all three players.

All three players have less than 18 months left on their contracts and despite Arsene Wenger repeatedly saying he would like the trio to stay in the past, their future at the Emirates is growing more uncertain by the day as they are yet to receive a formal offer from the Gunners.

Jack Wilshere is currently on a season-long loan at Bournemouth and has been impressive this season and more importantly, he has managed to stay fit and has already amassed more appearances for Bournemouth this season than in his previous three seasons combined for Arsenal.

The Standard claim that Wilshere would prefer to remain with Arsenal but given that he has yet to be offered a contract, the Englishman could have a change of heart and will face no shortage of suitors – with the likes of Manchester City, AC Milan and AS Roma said to be retaining an interest in the midfielder.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has previously stated that he may move on from the Emirates if he is unable to get regular games and despite the 23-year old getting a run of games after injuries and suspensions to key players, his future is also uncertain.

The Standard claim that Arsenal are still unsure whether the midfielder has a future at the Emirates and Chamberlain is also going to have several potential suitors, with Manchester City, Manchester United and Everton said to be closely monitoring his situation at Arsenal.

It also now looks increasingly likely that Kieran Gibbs will leave Arsenal after 13 years at the club. The 27-year old has failed to deliver on early signs of promise due to a combination of injuries and a lack of development.

Gibbs has been made captain on a few occasions this season – most notably in the EFL Cup – but he has failed to break into the first team yet again and has been restricted to only 3 starts in the English Premier League.

The Standard claim that Gibbs is keeping his options open and is prepared to seek a move away if he is not offered improved terms on his current deal, which is reportedly worth around £60,000-a-week.

Another factor that could lead to the trio that Arsene Wenger once said was a part of his “British Core” is the fact that the manager himself could leave the Emirates this season. It looks like it is going to be a worryingly uncertain summer for Arsenal fans this year.
