[Video] Gareth Bale scores from a wonderful freekick in Wales victory – Euro 2016

Real Madrid star Gareth Bale helped Wales clinch a 2-1 win over a resilient Slovakia side in the first Group B fixture of Euro 2016 on Saturday.

The 26-year-old forward was one of the key figures in the Wales side that went top of Group B after this win. In fact, Bale scored one of his trademark swerving free-kicks to open the score for his side in the first half of the match.

Although they lost the match, the Slovaks showed great resilience as they fought their way back into the game. In fact, they kept the majority of the possession (58 percent) as they went in search of the equaliser, which they got via a 61st minute Ondrej Duda strike.

However, Wales showed that they have enough quality in their squad as second half substitute Hal Robson-Kanu scored in the 81st minute to win the match for the Dragons.
