Tottenham Could Steal An Arsenal Transfer Target From Under Their Noses

. Arsenal have long been linked with a move for a PSG winger, but it looks like Tottenham Hotspur are looking to snap him up in the January transfer window in a low blow to their arch rivals.

30-year-old Argentine Ezequiel Lavezzi was rumored to have been on the way to Arsenal last summer, but talks broke down between the two parties, and with the winger unhappy at the club after the arrival of Angel di Maria and his contract expiring this summer, Tottenham Hotspur FC have been revealed as one of the favourites to sign the player, according to French TV Station, Telefoot. Lavezzi joined PSG from Italian club Napoli back in 2012 for 26.5 million Euros and the French giants could look to recoup some of the money they spent on him. But is believed that he will be available for a throwaway price because of his contract situation.

Spurs have to move fast

Tottenham will have to wrap up the deal quickly though, as a player of Lavezzi’s experience and ability could well be on the wishlist of many top European clubs. Serie A clubs Internazionale and Juventus are also rumoured to be interested in the winger, and he would also be an interesting prospect for many of Tottenham’s Premier League rivals who have been boosted by the money coming in from the new TV deal.

While Arsenal are still reportedly seeking to bring the Argentine to the Emirates stadium, their arch-rivals Tottenham could well be the favorites in the chase and this will only contribute to their feisty rivalry in North London.
