Wolfsburg make ai??i??30m Offer For Chelsea Forward Andre Schurrleai??i?? Report

Wolfsburg have made a a 30m bid for Chelsea forward Andre Schurrle.

Jose Mourinho has underlined that the German international needs to improve his physical shape and the striker has been placed on a fitness program to help cope with the rigours of the Premier League. World Cup winner Andre Schurrle has seen his opportunities limited this season, having started just five Premier League games. The 24-year-old suffered with a mystery illness early in the season which he believed contributed to his poor form and he remained a peripheral figure over the festive period. In his last two appearances for Chelsea, against Southampton on 28 December and in the FA Cup third-round victory over Watford, Mourinho opted to take him off at half-time. Ambitious Wolfsburg sense a deal can be done and want to test the Premier League leaders resolve. They believe Schurrle, who joined for A?18m from Bayer Leverkusen in 2013, is keen to move.

After having landed the important contract extension with Ricardo Rodriguez, Wolfsburg make their next move on the transfer market. The club’s aim is to get an attacker that will help them make a qualitative leap upwards with regards to their attack as Bas Dost and Nicklas Bendtner dona t have that quality required to make a difference upfront. Therefore the Volkswagen owned club, has decided to go for Chelsea’s German winger Andr Schurrle who isn’t receiving a lot of playing time at Stamford Bridge. Wolfsburg have offered Chelsea a 30 million to secure the services of the German international which represents an important amount for a club that hardly has any financial difficulties and wishes to compete at a top European level.Wolfsburg have done business with Chelsea before, notably taking Kevin De Bruyne to the Volkswagen Arena.

Recent reports have suggested Jose Mourinho is prepared to give Andr Schurrle and Mohamed Salah a further chance this season, although the two under-performing wingers have been left in no doubt that they are vulnerable to a summer departure if performances do not improve. The Chelsea manager is unwilling to make major changes to his squad this month unless an opportunity arises which he feels is too good to ignore, in which case the club would look to move one of their existing number on. SchA?rrle and Salah are the two players who have done the least to impress. While Salah was linked with a move to Inter Milan, this bid from Wolfsburg which is more than the a 21m paid for Schurrle should be enough to change Jose Mourinhoa s mind and sell the 24-year-old World Cup winner.
