When Manchester United legend Gary Neville quit as a Sky Sports pundit to take up the managerial role at Valencia CF, there was a lot of cynicism about how Jamie Charragher would conduct the shows alone. However, the former Liverpool FC defender has revealed that Sky Sports will not get a replacement for Neville.

After their retirement from professional football, both Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville became pundits on the Sky Sports show ‘Monday Night Football’. However, in spite of the latter leaving to become a manager at Valencia CF, the channel won’t be replacing him, according to Carragher.
The Liverpool FC legend tweeted, “Just to be clear Gnev2 [Gary Neville] isn’t being replaced. We’re going to have a different guest every week. Should be good!”

Instead, they are said to be trying to bring an individual guest for every show, to partner-up with Carragher and grace the programme with their punditry. “Looking forward to MNF tomorrow got a very lively guest on!” said Carragher in another tweet.

Lampard, Bellamy in consideration
There have been rumours flying around, about who would be replacing Neville on the show, and two names have been strongly linked with Sky Sports punditry — Chelsea FC legend Frank Lampard and former Manchester City, Liverpool FC and Cardiff City winger Craig Bellamy.
Gary Neville meanwhile has more pressing matters at hand, needing to get the struggling Valencia CF side back up to the Champions League spots, as they languish in the eighth position on the La Liga table. He would however, take heart from the gritty display Los Che put out against table toppers FC Barcelona, earning a 1-1 draw.
