Real Madrid On Verge Agreeing A Deal With FC Barcelona Target Danilo

It seems that Real Madrid have trumped eternal rivals FC Barcelona in the chase of FC Porto right-back Danilo as the player is on verge of agreeing a deal with Los Blancos.

Alvaro Arbeloa has lost his place in the starting XI of Real Madrid to Dani Carvajal as he no longer enjoys the confidence of Carlo Ancelotti. Arbeloa is now certain to leave the club in summer and as a result, the Los Blancos authorities are keen to sign a world class successor of the Spaniard.

It is an open secret that Danilo of FC Porto is available in the market for a right pricea as the Portuguese club is ready to cash in on him.

FC Barcelona was the first club to register an interest in Danilo but FIFA transfer ban has put down a cold water on the plans of Catalans as they are not able to sign any player until January. But the player is eager to leave his current club in July itself.

It appears that Real Madrid officials took the full benefit of FC Barcelonaa s transfer ban as they have pursuaded the FC Porto management for the sale of Danilo.

Dani Alves is currently the first choice right back FC Barcelona. However, the contract of Alves expires on 30th June and he has shown no signs of extending the same. FC Barcelona currently have the likes of Martin Montoya and Douglas, who are the deputies of Dani Alves, but they do not enjoy the trust of coach Luis Enrique.

This situation concerning the contract of Dani Alves had forced FC Barcelona to look elsewhere for a new right back and Danilo was their preferred target.

The management of FC Barcelona had even made a plan to pursuade FC Porto authorities to hold on to Danilo for another six months. But Real Madrid authorities acted quickly to fend off the interest of the Catalans and they are now almost certain to get their man in the summer transfer window.

Meanwhile, reports coming from Spain have also confirmed the triumph of Real Madrid over FC Barcelona in chase of Danilo.

Marca has claimed it today that Real Madrid and Porto have agreed a deal for Brazilian full-back Danilo. The negotiations have reportedly gone so far that contracts have been drawn up and are just awaiting signatures from all the relevant parties.
