Mourinhoai??i??s Sacking Has Improved The Atmosphere At Chelsea, Says John Obi Mikel

.

John Obi Mikel believes that the atmosphere in the Chelsea camp has improved following Jose Mourinhoa s sacking.

Though the Nigerian international refused to blame the manager alone for the teama s decline, he claims that the club needs to move on following the Special One’s second stint at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea FC played out a goalless draw at Old Trafford on Monday as Guus Hiddink took charge of the Blues.

The atmosphere has improved since the change of manager

As reported by ESPN FC, John Obi Mikel spoke about Mourinhoa s dismissal and its impact in the dressing room, making it clear that it had a positive influence on the team.

“We’ve moved on from that and the atmosphere has improved since the change of manager. It’s fine now, we’ve just not been getting results.

“Jose is a fantastic manager and will always be a fantastic guy. But sometimes football is a cruel game and you have to move on.”

Is it the right decision? We’ll only see in the future.

It was earlier reported that the players shared a fractured relationship with Jose Mourinho and hence played a deliberate role in his dismissal. However, the midfielder believes that the blame must also lie with the players. Though John Obi Mikel did not go so far as to claim that the decision to sack Mourinho was the a righta one, he did however indicate that the Portuguese manager had a negative influence in the dressing room.

“The atmosphere has improved since the change of manager.”

Sitting on the 14th spot in the Premier League table, Guus Hiddink is tasked with the mammoth responsibility to curb the rot at Chelsea FC. While a top 4 finish looks like an unrealistic target at this point in the season, the interim manager will look to turn the season around in 2016 as Chelsea FC look for a permanent replacement for the Special One.
