Manchester United Face Competition From PSG For Lazio’s Felipe Anderson

Manchester United have been linked with Lazio’s emerging sensation Felipe Anderson. The Brazilian has been a real find in European football in the recently concluded season and was key for the Italian club doing so well in the league.

The Brazilian began his senior career at Santos and his talent and progress ensured he quickly rose through their youth ranks.

After making 61 appearances for the club, He looked set to be joining Lazio on the last day of the 2013 January transfer window. Unfortunately, the deal couldna t be completed on time due to the arrival of a late fax. The transfer eventually got completed in June, after some added complications because of the Braziliana s third party owners.

Nicknamed Lampadina, or the a light bulba , Anderson is an attacking midfielder who is used in the traditional number 10 role. He likes to sit behind the striker but the two footed player can even be employed out wide. He has got a great first touch and likes to dribble a lot. His good control with the ball, vision and link-up with other attackers make him a real asset to have in the ranks.

Liverpool were linked with a move for the player in March as it was reported that the Reds had sent scouting missions to watch him play.

Links with Liverpool have subsequently died down but it seems now that Manchester United are the party most interested in the player. According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, the club had a bid of a 50 million rejected by the Rome-based club.

United look set to engage in another battle for an attacker, after Angel di Maria, as Le 10 Sport have reported that the 22-year-old attacking midfielder has emerged as a key summer target for the club of the capital.

All three of these clubs have the money Lazio will demand if they were to part with such an influential player in the team currently. Anderson recently signed a new deal at Lazio that will keep him at the club till 2020.
