Manchester City ai??i?? Negredo Joins Valencia; Agent Denies Dzeko ai??i?? Roma Rumours

Agent of Edin Dzeko has rubbished claims that the Manchester City striker is close to signing for AS Roma, while Alvaro Negredo has completed his move to Valencia.

The 29-year-old forward made just 11 starts in the Premier League last season and struggled to make any significant impact as Manchester City failed to defend their Premier League crown. The Bosnian internationala s future at the club has come under a lot of speculations and a host of clubs have been linked with a move for him, including AS Roma.

Dzeko, who signed from Wolfsburg for A?27 million in 2011, has had a fairly decent goal scoring record considering the fact that he hasna t been a regular starter. But City are expected to make a lot of new additions to their squad this summer after a trophy-less campaign last time around and Dzeko could be one of the casualties.

.

AS Roma, who are in the market for a new striker, are reportedly keen on signing Dzeko, permanently or on loan. Dzekoa s Bosnian teammate Miralem Pjanic had earlier claimed that the striker is interested in signing for Roma. His quotes fuelled reports of Roma having reached a personal agreement with Dzeko, but the strikera s agent has denied them, stating his desire to stay at Manchester City.

“I was frankly surprised by Pjanic’s comments, unless he knows something that I don’t.

“I have had no contact with Roma, nor am I aware of any talks between the two clubs.

“It’s not a financial issue, he simply doesn’t want to leave the Citizens.” a Irfan Redzepagic told Rete Sport.

The Express claims that Dzekoa s decision to stay at Man City, despite being third in the pecking order currently, could also affect Newcastle United. If AS Roma fail to sign the Bosnian international, they will shift their focus on Anderlecht striker Aleksandar Mitrovic, who has also been targeted by Newcastle. The English club have earmarked Mitrovic to replace Papiss Cisse, who is expected to sign for Trabzonspor this summer.

Meanwhile, Manchester City have managed to offload another striker, and that too for a hefty price. Alvaro Negredo, who was on loan to Valencia last season, has signed for them for a reported fee of a 30 million. Valencia had an option to make the loan move permanent this summer and they seemed have been pleased with how Negredo performed last season.
