Liverpool FC Flop Balotelli Linked With Move To AC Milan, Sampdoria: Reports

Milan

Liverpool FC forward Mario Balotelli could return to AC Milan or Sampdoria as per reports in England and Italy.

Balotelli has had a miserable campaign for the 5 times European Champions who failed to qualify for the Champions League following collective failure of their strikers.

Much was expected of Balotelli following his 16 million pound move from AC Milan. But, the player was perhaps a square peg in a round hole in the system at Liverpool FC.

He struggled to get in the team and made only 10 starts in the league scoring just once – a winner against Tottenham Hotspur.

Corriere dello Sport claim AC Milan are ready re-sign the Italian striker after a disappointing season, with the Reds hoping to recoup their A?16m fee.

Massimo Ferrero, president of Sampdoria, has revealed his desire to convince Mario Balotelli of donning the Blucerchiati shirt following the qualification in Europe.

Ferrero said: a There is certainly the idea of bringing in Balotelli, especially if we want to play in Europe.a

Balotelli is certain to leave Anfield and Liverpool Echo reporter James Pearce said:

a I would be absolutely amazed if Mario Balotelli was still a Liverpool player on the first day of next season. You only have to look at how fleetingly he was used last season to see where he stands.a

a I certainly expect Balotelli to move, possibly to Sampdoria, but Liverpool may struggle to get even half of what they paid for him (A?16m).a
