Chelsea Ready To Offer ai??i??40m For Higuain

Chelsea are looking to sign a new striker this summer, following the departure of Didier Drogba from west London. According to Calcio Mercato Web, Jose Mourinho is interested in his former Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain and is ready to offer Close to a 40m for the Napoli hitman.

Higuain looks all set to leave the Italian club this summer, following their failure to qualify for the Champions League and Rafa Benitez imminent move to Real Madrid. There are a host of English clubs scrambling for Higuain’s deal, besides Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool have already shown their interest.

Last month, Gonzalo’s father hinted that negotiating a move may prove difficult, saying: “There are a lot of teams interested in Gonzalo.

“However, he has a three-year contract to run with Napoli. I do not think he will go anywhere.”

The 27 year old striker Joined Napoli from Real Madrid in 2013 and was Napoli’s top scorer this season with 18 goals in the league. A chance to reunite with his former coach Mourinho might just lure him to Chelsea and with Costa and Remy both struggling with injuries in their first season at Stamford Bridge, a move for a striker this summer looks more and more a necessity for Jose.
