Chelsea FC star FAi??bregas labels manager Mourinho the ‘most competitive coach’ he has ever had

Chelsea FC will face the extremely difficult task of retaining their Premier League crown next season, but midfielder Cesc F bregas believes the demanding and competitive nature of manager Jos Mourinho can help towards that end

The Spanish international famously joined Chelsea FC in the summer of 2014 following a personal conversation with Jos Mourinho. The Chelsea FC manager evidently did an extraordinary job of selling a vision to the 28-year-old, so much so, that the former Arsenal FC captain was convinced within minutes.

It is perhaps that charisma and drive of Mourinho that could help Chelsea FC retain their Premier League crown next season, with F bregas insisting that Mourinho is the most competitive coach he has ever had.

“He is definitely up there with the best of them”

Speaking ahead of the curtain-raising Community Shield clash against his former manager ArsA?ne Wenger, F bregas was gushing in his praise of Chelsea FC boss Mourinho. Fabregas believes he will help keep any potential complacency away from the squad.

The Spaniard is quoted by the Sunday Express as saying: “We will have to be more powerful and determined to achieve things because other teams are progressing. But we are confident and the coach believes a lot in the squad. He is happy with us and we have to prove him right, every year.

“We know we have the quality, I can see in the people’s faces the same ambition and drive as last year. If that wasn’t the case the manager would change it.”

The Chelsea FC midfielder reserved words of praise for the manager who was so instrumental in bringing him back to London. “[Mourinho] is tough and he is definitely up there with the best of them. He demands the best every day and is the most competitive coach I’ve ever had,” F bregas said.

Mourinho key to Chelsea FC title defence

Although it might sound obvious, the Portuguese’s management will be absolutely key if Chelsea FC are to defend their title. Along with legendary Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson, Mourinho is the only other manager to successfully retain the Premier League trophy till date, when he won back-to-back titles with the Blues between 2005 and 2006.

With the Stamford Bridge outfit making minimal changes to their squad, Mourinho has to ensure he gets even more out of every player this season. Indeed, the former Real Madrid manager has said so himself, emphasising the need for every member of the Chelsea FC management and playing staff to improve upon last season.

In contrast to his first spell at the club, it is now his title rivals who are spending significant sums of money, and the wily Portuguese could use that as a motivating tool for his squad. Creating an ‘us against the world’ mentality is his modus operandi and it is what has got the best out of him and his players, and next season could well be a repeat.
