Chelsea FC Star Diego Costa Offered To Real Madrid: Report

Chelsea striker Diego Costa might be returning to Spain after just one season in England to join former team Atletico Madrida s rivals Real Madrid.

After signing from Atletico Madrid for a reported fee of A?32 million, Chelsea forward Diego Costa could well be heading back to Spain after spending just one season in London. The Brazil-born forward is believed to have struggled to adjust to the English life and is homesick. According to reports, Spanish journalist Francois Gallardo claims that the Spain international has been offered to Real Madrid.

Previously, it had been reported that Costa is unsettled and is seeking a move back to his former club Atletico Madrid. But Diego Costa himself came forward and declared that he intends to stay at Chelsea.

Costa said: a I love it, the fans love me, and I want to stay. Ita s really good to come in the first season and win two things [the league title and the Capital One Cup]. Next year Ia ll be ready to come back and, hopefully, win a couple more trophies.a

Didier Drogba has already departed from Chelsea and now Jose Mourinho is on the hunt for a new striker. Recent reports suggest that Manchester United reject Radamel Falcao could be on his way to Chelsea from AS Monaco. Mourinho has also spoken about the Colombian and expressed his admiration for the former Atletico forward. If Mourinho intends to make Falcao his main striker, which is unlikely, Costa may not be interested in staying at the club as a bench-warmer.

THT Verdict: Highly Unlikely

.

Diego Costa was Chelseaa s star player last season and managed to score 20 league goals for The Blues despite suffering various injuries. Jose Mourinho is not a novice when it comes to transfer dealing and there is rare possibility of the former Real Madrid manager to allow Costa to make a move in just one season. On the other hand, Diego Costa was a loved player at Atletico Madrid before becoming one of Chelseaa s best players last season. It is highly unlikely that Costa will make a move to his former cluba s closest rivals and invite the wrath of the Atletico faithful.
