Chelsea Agree To Sign Brazilian Play Maker For 30 Million Pounds

Europe’s leading goal getter, Shakhtar Donetsk’s 25-year-old Alex Teixeira, has agreed on a deal with Chelsea FC and will be joining the team in January, according to reports.

Brazilian play maker Alex Teixeira, who was also reportedly being pursued by Juventus and PSG, has wrapped a deal with Premier League club Chelsea FC and will be joining them in January transfer window, according to The Daily Star.

Teixeira has had a massive season with Ukranian club Shakhtar Donetsk, scoring 22 goals in 15 games, and was heavily linked with a move away from the club in the past few months. The attacking midfielder will add to the already star studded attack at Stamford Bridge and will look to take advantage of the poor run of form that the likes of Oscar, Eden Hazard and Pedro, to make his way into the starting XI.

Missed the bus

Chelsea FC first approached Teixeira when they were still under Portugese manager Jose Mourinho and the Brazilian had been very excited about working under the former Blues boss.

“[Mourinho] is the world’s best. I’ll learn a lot. Hope he doesn’t leave Chelsea. I want to work with him and have great success,” he said, back in November, according to The Standard.

“I don’t know if it was Mourinho who suggested me to Chelsea, but I read that he was keeping an eye on my football.”

Test for Teixeira

While Texeira has excelled for Shakhtar Donetsk, the Premier League is a very different ball game and he will have to bring his best form forward if he is to succeed in England. The Brazilian is uncapped by his national side, but would definitely attract the attention of Brazil National coach Dunga, if he were to succeed in the Premier League and that’s what he will be looking to do at Chelsea.
