Arsene Wenger Says Eden Hazard Not As Good As Messi, Ronaldo

Arsenal FC manager Arsene Wenger has said Chelsea FC star Eden Hazard needs to score more goals to be considered in the same league as Critiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi following Jose Mourinho’s suggestion that he was better than the Real Madrid man, last season.

Mourinho reckons the lack of trophies with Real Madrid last season means a fantastica Cristiano Ronaldo drops down below Eden Hazard who was also a fantastica in the list of best players in the world.

When asked if Ronaldo was no longer among the top two players in the world, Mourinho was quoted saying to the Guardian: a I think so. I dona t like players or managers to win individual trophies without the team.a

When asked to respond to those claims, Wenger said that Messi and Ronaldo were better than Hazard because they scored a lot more goals than the Chelsea FC man.

.

“It is all about opinions,” Wenger was quoted saying by ESPN FC when he was asked for his views on the Chelsea FC midfielder, who scored 14 Premier League goals last season.

“You have to compare the numbers. I must say players like Messi and Ronaldo still score 50 goals and that is exceptional.

“He [Hazard] can decide the games and you put the top players in this kind of calibre when they can decide the games with something special. Hazard is in this category, now to reach the other two or three that are dominating world football at the moment I think it demands consistency which he is still to do.”

Sanchez as good as Hazard

Wenger was quoted by ESPN FC as saying that Arsenal FC forward Alexis Sanchez could match the Chelsea FC star following his successful first season in the Premier League. The former FC Barcelona man scored 16 goals last campaign – two more than Hazard.

“I don’t like all these comparisons. Everybody always thinks their player is the best which I can understand, but [what] Sanchez did for the first year in the Premier League is absolutely exceptional. Hopefully he will not only repeat it, but grow again.”

Arsene Wenger went on to reveal that Arsenal would have signed Hazard from Ligue 1 side Lille, but for a “a few million” pounds that led to the deal falling through.
