Arsene Wenger Happy With Smooth Petr Cech Transition

Arsenal Manager Arsene Wenger says that the transfer of veteran Czech goalkeeper, Petr Cech , from fellow London club Chelsea went smoothly despite the rivalry between the two clubs.

The Champions League and Premier League winning goalkeeper has been a spirited addition to an Arsenal side that had always been thought to be lacking a world class shot stopper after the departure of Jens Lehmann.

The Czech keeper moved to Arsenal as their only major signing of the summer, despite protests from Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho. Petr Cech made the move after being ousted from the first team by young Belgian keeper Thibault Courtois and was replaced by Stoke City’s Asmir Begovic who is currently number one goalie at Chelsea after Courtois injury early on in the season.
Cech is the perfect goalkeeper

According to Goal.com . , Wenger told reporters, a I met Petr and he told me he could be available for that money and I said: a For that money, Ia ll do it, so you do the job. I had no fight with Chelsea, honestly.”

a He had an agreement with his chairman that he could go for a certain price anywhere. We managed to get him here and we are happy with it. He has given us all his experience and his leadership because he is a leader on the pitch.”

a He talks, is brilliant intellectually, he can analyse and is highly focused. He is the perfect goalkeeper.a

Best Transfer of the summer?

Arsene Wenger had been criticized for not bringing in enough new players during the summer transfer window but Petr Cech has added a spark to the Arsenal side. He has already pulled off some spectacular saves and has helped Arsenal to the Community Shield and joint top of the table with Manchester City on 25 points as of the 7th of November.

That’s not to forget that his former side, Chelsea, currently lie in 15th place with his replacement has just two clean sheets in eight starts for the club. They’re probably missing Cech right now.
