The Former Arsenal FC goalkeeper has urged Mesut Ozil to step up his performances in the big matches, while asking Petr Cech to get over his love for Chelsea FC.

Jens Lehmann, who was part of the last Arsenal team to win the Premier League title, has expressed his admiration for fellow German star Mesut Ozil, but feels that he can still improve a lot, especially in the big matches for the Gunners.

Mesut Ozil was signed in a big money transfer from Real Madrid, at the start of the 2013-14 season. The 26-year-old made a brilliant start to his Arsenal career in his debut season, but slowly inconsistency crept into his performances. But the German internationala s performances improved a lot towards to second half of last season, as he showed signs of being back to his best.

“Everyone knows he can be a fantastic player. But you need to be a fantastic player in the big games,

“You dona t need to be a fantastic player in the small games and mediocre player for the big games.

a He can definitely do that but now he must prove it. You need to know how to think and how to programme yourself.

“Of course he can improve.

a You cana t get better on the day that you retire from football a but you can every day before that.a a Jens Lehmann said in an interview to The Sun . .

Lehmann also had suggestions for Arsenala s latest signing Petr Cech. The Former German goalkeeper has urged Cech to forget his affection for his former club Chelsea and concentrate on his new goals with Arsenal. The 45-year-old feels that the Czech International will take some time to get over this.

“Before you can have it in your heart to win titles again, you have to get rid of the love you had before. As a professional, he must get over [his relationship with Chelsea] and needs to know Arsenal want him to win things again for them.”

“That is not an easy thing to get over psychologically… it can take a few weeks, even a few months.” a He added.
