“Aguero As Good As Suarez,” Raheem Sterling

. New Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling has said that Sergio Aguero is as good as his former Liverpool FC team mate Luis Suarez.

Raheem Sterling became English football’s first 100 million GBP man when he switched Liverpool FC for Manchester City in a 49 million GBP deal that sees him earn around 10.4 million GBP per year.

Sterling played alongside the current FC Barcelona treble winner Luis Suarez in the 2013-14 season at Liverpool FC when the pair, alongwith Daniel Sturridge, were instrumental in helping the Merseysiders finish second in the league.

The controversial Uruguayan scored 31 goals in 33 league games for Liverpool FC to win the PFA Player of the Year and the Footballer of the Year awards in that year.

And Sterling believes that his new Manchester City team mate and top scorer Sergio Aguero is as good as Suarez, whom he succeeded as the top scorer of the Premier League.

“They are two players in the same category, both world-class players and can score from any moment in the game,” Sterling told City’s official website. “I am really looking forward to working with him as I did with Luis.”

Raheem Sterling did not win any trophy with Liverpool FC and revealed that the chance to lift trophies inspired him to join Manchester City.

Sterling added: “They have got world-class players and players I think are capable of winning things year in, year out. The team and the players Man City have got, they should be challenging for the title every year. This year should be no different.”

Sterling amassed a total of 7 goals and an equal number of assists as Liverpool FC struggled to gain any sort of momentum following the loss of Luis Suarez to FC Barcelona.

The loss of Luis Suarez and a poor season by Liverpool FC, coupled with the lucrative financial deal and the chance to win trophies that Manchester City offered, one could not blame Sterling much for looking to move on. Can you?
