Chelsea are reportedly planning a renewed attempt to sign Wayne Rooney from Manchester United in the summer.
Manchester United are expected to complete a highly talked about move of Juan Mata this week and Chelsea are expected to make counter bid for the United superstar in summer.
According to various English newspapers including The Mirror and The Times, bosses at the Stamford Bridge club believe the England striker’s expiring contract will allow them to land him on the cheap.
Jose Mourinhoai??i??s team submitted two offers for Rooney last summer after being told that the 28-year-old wanted to move to Stamford Bridge, with the second believed to be around the ai??i??30.5m mark.
Rooney is likely to delay a decision over his future until after the World Cup finals in Brazil this summer, by which time he will have entered the final 12 months of his A?250,000-a-week contract with United.
