Liverpool FC have been linked with an ambitious move to sign in-form Real Madrid playmaker Isco in January.
According to reports in both the Spanish and the English media, the Reds are plotting a big profile bid for the 22 year old Spaniard as they hope that his addition can sparkle a resurgence in the Merseysiders’ camp.
Isco has been in terrific form of late and Carlo Ancelotti has been left impressed with the ex-Malaga player as he nicely filled in for Gareth Bale in the latter’s absence.
The Reds are prepared to rival Manchester City for the Spanish youngster’s signature in the upcoming transfer window, with the former Malaga star’s present form attracting plenty of interest at the moment.
Last season, reports of Liverpool preparing to make the player their costliest signing of this summer started doing rounds.Ai??It was understood that the Merseyside outfit were going to table a A?37m bid toAi??land the 21 year old Spanish international provided the club attains its goal of Champions League.
The Reds instead spent a huge amount on other players like Adam Lallana, Lazar Markovic and Dejan Lovren, all of whom have hardly justified the sum paid for them.
Brendan Rodgers’ team is struggling heavily at the moment and lies in a mediocre mid-table spot as the two week long November international break starts. Liverpool have more losses (5) than wins (4) and are in desperate need for some momentum. While Daniel Sturridge’s return for them could spark a comeback, the Reds can’t depend on one man to make a remarkable turn around for the club.
The Liverpool boss has certainly taken a lot of pressure on himself in the last one week, with his team selections and the performances that followed. He needs to ensure Liverpool make a comeback immediately after the international break.

Getting Isco could solve some problems for Liverpool. The biggest problem for the Merseysiders is the lack of chances being created offensively. There is zilch creativity and attacking threat and Mario Balotelli is put under the scanner everytime even though he has nothing to feed off. Liverpool are not troubling any defences and Raheem Sterling is being asked for too much. Isco would get in the Reds’ starting line-up comfortably. The attacking trio of Isco on the right (or left as he is capable of being deployed anywhere in the attack), Raheem Sterling in the middle and one of Philippe Coutinho or Adam Lallana on the other side with Daniel Sturridge ahead with or without Balotelli. This attacking line-up can provide enough spark for the Reds who must finish in the top 4 this season.
But Real Madrid wantAi??A?31.2million for the in-form player andAi??Manchester City are also interested in him. This makes things tougher for Liverpool. Will FSG sanction this move after the numerous summer signings failing to live up to expectations? Will Real Madrid even want to sell the player who has proved his worth recently? It all remains highly unlikely.
