Juventus manager Max Allegri confirmed he will stick with the four-man defence against Parma and a trident of Carlos Tevez, Fernando Llorente and Alvaro Morata is possible.
The Bianconeri are without Arturo Vidal (suspended), Andrea Barzagli, Patrice Evra, Kwado Asamoah and Martin Caceres for this game against Parma and Allegri feels that the new module needs to be used more to achieve the best results.
“I think we will stick with the same system we used on Tuesday,” said Allegri in the press conference before the Parma game.
“I had decided from the summer to maintain the old system, but now I think itai??i??s time to shake up the squad. Padoin, Ogbonna or Chiellini could start on the left. It takes balance, as we are coming off an exhausting match.”
Allegri commented on the possibility of using Carlos Tevez as a trequartista behind the front pair of Spanish strikers Llorente and Morata.
“It was impossible for Tevez to maintain his early goal ratio, but heai??i??s doing very well and is working for the team. There is no Tevez problem. Morata is young and needs to grow, while Llorente is more of a reference point in the box and the best Iai??i??ve got in the air. I have five strikers and at the moment Coman isnai??i??t getting much time, but he has a great future ahead of him.”
Allegri warned his side not to underestimate Parma who recently registered their first win of the season against Inter Milan last Saturday. “Parma beat Inter last week, they are a good team and have Antonio Cassano who can change a game. People say heai??i??s a little mad, but he can pass the ball like few in the world.”
“The Ducali have rediscovered their confidence and enthusiasm. They had a whole week to prepare and in psychological and physical terms will therefore be sharper.We must be smart to not get too ahead of ourselves when things go well and not let our heads drop when they go badly.”
Finally the Juventus manager felt that the race for the Scudetto will go right down to the wire this season as both Roma and Napoli have strong squads and are looking determined to mount a serious title challenge. “Iai??i??d prefer Roma to be 10 points behind us rather than three,” said the Coach.
“I had no doubts Napoli would get back up there too, as theyai??i??ve played all the recent campaigns at a high level. Itai??i??s not as if one bad or unlucky performance can cancel out all of a teamai??i??s quality. It is a very balanced and interesting campaign.”
