Spanish international Diego Costa has admitted that he is on the verge of completing his move from Atletico Madrid to Chelsea FC.
The 25-year-old has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge since the end of the season and the Atletico Madrid forward has finally accepted these reports publicly.
Diego Costa enjoyed the best season of the career so far as he stepped up to fill up the shoes of Radamel Falcao for Atletico Madrid. The striker scored 36 goals in all competitions as Diego Simeoneai??i??s side broke through the duopoly in the Spanish league and lifted the La Liga title. Los Indios also made their way to the Champions League final, where they eventually lost to rivals Real Madrid. But this success was never going to be enough to retain Diego Costa in the squad next season, as a host of European clubs lined up for his signature.
Chelsea were always the favourites in the race to sign Diego Costa and recent reports suggested that the London club have agreed upon a transfer fee of A?30million for the Spanish international. It is believed that Costa has already completed his medical and the deal will be made official before the start of the World Cup. The now for the first time, the striker has publicly accepted these reports and stated that he is on his way to Stamford Bridge.

Diego Costa provided the above statement after Spainai??i??s 0-2 win over El Salvador on Saturday. The Chelsea bound striker made it to the starting line-up and is expected to feature regularly in Spainai??i??s World Cup campaign after recovering from his injury.
“The injury was there and there was a doubt, but I am in good shape now” ai??i?? Costa added.
It will be a strange situation for the Atletico Madrid forward as he will represent Spain in this tournament, hosted by the nation he was born at. Costa chose Spain over Brazil and could be at the end of some hostile reception, especially if these two nations face each other in later stages. But the former Brazilian international is happy with the decision he has made.
