Chelsea FC have completed the signing of Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah from FC Basel.
With this move Mohamed Salah has now become the first Egyptian to sign for the London club and will hope to bigger impact than his countrymen have had in this league in the past. The 21-year-old started out his footballing career at El Mokawloon before joining FC Basel back in 2012. He impressed everyone with his performances for the Swiss and also managed to grab a permanent spot in the Egyptian national side.
Salah caught everyoneai??i??s attention with some sparkling performances in the Champions League, most notably against Chelsea. In fact he has scored two goals against the London club, the first of which arrived in the Europa League last season. A lot of European clubs were scouting him since last season and it was only a matter of time before Basel had to sell him.
Liverpool were competition with Chelsea in the race for his signature, but the Blues were determined to sign in order strengthen their squad as they look to compete for multiple trophies. Chelsea lost both Juan Mata and Kevin De Bruyne in this transfer window and needed a reinforcement to provide them with enough cover in attack.
Salah is unlikely to be a regular starter in the side at the moment as Eden Hazard, Oscar and Willian seem to be Jose Mourinhoai??i??s first choice attacking triumvirate, but Salah is sure to get opportunities in the FA Cup and also when Mourinho decides to rest some of his key players before or after Champions league fixtures. Salah is cup-tied and wonai??i??t be available for European matches this season.

Salah becomes the second big signing for Chelsea in this transfer window after the arrival of Nemanja Matic. He has signed a five-year contract with the Blues and will wear jersey number 15. The transfer fee involved in this deal is believed to be around A?11million.
