Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski has rubbished reports linking him with Bayern Munich and expresses his desire to play in the Premier League.
The 25-year-old strikerai??i??s future has been up for speculation since last season. His current contract at Borussia Dortmund will expire in June next year and earlier reports in Germany suggested that Bayern Munich will sign him for free next summer. The fact that Dortmund held on to him this summer and took the risk of losing him for free next season, is a story in itself.
With only eight months left on his current contract, Robert Lewandowski can open talks with interested clubs in January and could possibly sign a pre-contract agreement. Last month, when Lewandowski was asked to confirm whether he will be a Bayern player next season in an interview, he replied –
“Yes, because I can officially sign the new contract in January.
“Right now, I can’t say anything. Normally, I can only reveal it officially in January.
“At this moment, it is still too early and we’ll have to wait a bit. But I think, I can leave in January.” ai??i?? Lewandowski said back then.
But now the Polish international has distanced himself from the above comments and has refused to have said anything regarding becoming a Bayern player. Lewandowski also threw the cat among the pigeons by expressing his desire to play in England.

This comment from Lewandowski will surely put the big English clubs on alert. Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United have all been linked with Lewandowski in the past and this will now encourage them to make a move for him in January. On the other hand, this could also be a tactics by his agent to negotiate a better contract with Bayern Munich. Either way, the January transfer window will hold more answers to these questions.
Meanwhile Lewandowski has also revealed about the much talked about move to Blackburn Rovers, that didnai??i??t take place.
